Job Overview

The job role of Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within the organization’s premises in compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) 9001 standards. This includes routine cleaning, waste disposal, and the maintenance of a clean and safe working environment for all employees and visitors.

This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the responsibilities and requirements associated with the cleaner role within an organization that adheres to ISO 9001 standards.

What will you enjoy doing (duties/tasks)

• Clean and sanitize all designated areas (offices, restrooms, kitchens, hallways, stairwells, etc.) following the organization’s cleaning schedule.
• Ensure all areas are free from dust, dirt, and debris, and surfaces are regularly disinfected.
• Clean and maintain floor coverings, carpets, windows, walls, and other surfaces as required.
• Collect and dispose of waste (general, recyclable, and hazardous) according to company procedures and environmental regulations.
• Ensure waste containers are emptied regularly and replaced with fresh liners.
• Maintain cleanliness in waste storage areas.
• Follow all cleaning procedures and protocols in line with ISO 9001 standards, ensuring that quality and safety are prioritized.
• Report any potential safety hazards or maintenance issues immediately to the relevant department.
• Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored and used according to safety guidelines.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, and steam cleaners.
• Ensure proper stock levels of cleaning materials, and reorder supplies as necessary, adhering to the company’s inventory control procedures.
• Maintain cleaning logs and ensure all cleaning activities are documented accurately.
• Report any discrepancies, damage, or areas of concern to the supervisor as per QMS 9001 procedures.
• Participate in internal audits, inspections, and training related to QMS 9001 compliance and quality improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of cleaning processes and standards.
• Ensure that the premises are always presentable and welcoming to employees, visitors, and clients.
• Address any cleaning-related complaints or concerns from staff or visitors promptly and professionally.
