Cleaning and Maintenance Worker

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Cleaning and Maintenance Worker to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and proper functioning of our facilities. This role is vital in maintaining a welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and residents alike. The ideal candidate will possess a proactive attitude, strong mechanical aptitude, and excellent attention to detail. You will be responsible for performing routine cleaning tasks, conducting maintenance repairs, and supporting facility operations to uphold high standards of safety and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of common areas, offices, restrooms, and residential spaces using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards.
• Carry out minor repairs such as plumbing fixes, electrical troubleshooting, or replacing fixtures to ensure operational efficiency.
• Utilize schematics and technical manuals to diagnose issues with mechanical or electrical systems.
• Operate tools including welders, ohmmeters, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for troubleshooting or repair tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Assist with facilities maintenance projects such as painting, welding, or installing new equipment while adhering to safety protocols.

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in facilities maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with schematics, electrical systems, and the use of tools like ohmmeters and PLCs.
• Ability to perform residential painting and basic welding tasks effectively.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance or custodial setting is preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly in English.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and safety standards related to maintenance work.
