At UConn Health Center, this class is accountable for independently performing a full range of administrative tasks.
Works under the general supervision of an employee of higher grade.
May lead/supervise lower-level employees as assigned.
Acts as triage/receptionist for incoming/outgoing patients and performs associated administrative duties.
Collects payments.
Takes incoming and outgoing telephone calls.
Schedules patient appointments for clinics, and diagnostic testing.
Prepares a variety of requests for patient diagnostic testing.
Processes billing/insurance information.
Prepares/sends out reminder cards/letters to cancel and reschedule appointments.
May order supplies.
May perform administrative duties.
Performs related duties as required.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of clinical office management.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Considerable interpersonal skills.
Oral and written communications skills.
Ability to operate office equipment, which may include computers, printers, scanners, fax machines and other automated equipment.
Ability to schedule and prioritize workflow.
Two (2) years of direct face-to-face customer service experience.
Graduation from a medical office assistant program may be substituted for the general experience.
Dermatology experience.
Minimum of 2 years' EPIC experience.
Experience scheduling medical appointments.
SCHEDULE: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. with a 60-minute unpaid meal break. This position is located at the Main Hospital in Farmington. This position may require travel to off-site locations.
