GENERAL OVERVIEW:
The clinical informatics pharmacist oversees and facilitates use of current and future clinical information systems to drive medication management transformation across the enterprise to promote patient safety, support workflow, and optimize efficiency. This role participates in planning, research, development, implementation, and evaluation of pharmacy and clinical systems and services within the Allegheny Health Network. The clinical informatics pharmacist works through all phases of system development to effectively meet pharmacy and medication management best practice standards and ensure that information systems are consistent with professional standards and evidenced-based practice. This position will collaborate with the clinical system training department and provide curriculum design and primary training needs to pharmacy staff.
