Position Summary
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine is seeking a 30 hour per week (0.75 FTE) Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – to join the Department of Radiology. This position will be hired at the rank of Clinical Instructor.

The APP will work collaboratively with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver high quality patient care. Responsibilities include independently performing a range of adult and/or pediatric minor procedures, such as:
  • Barium swallows and modified barium swallows
  • Upper GI studies
  • Enemas
  • Urinary fluoroscopy procedures
  • Arthrograms
  • Lumbar punctures
  • Ultrasound guided and CT guided biopsies


Additional responsibilities include supporting clinic visits for patients undergoing theranostics treatment within the Molecular Imaging and Therapeutics division, as well as providing research support for the clinical trials group.

Primary work locations will include UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill and UNC Hillsborough Hospital.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • Active North Carolina Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license.
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (for NPs) or completion of an accredited PA program (for PAs).

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
  • Prior procedural experience.
  • Research experience, particularly in a clinical or academic setting.
