Clinical Nurse II - Intensive Care Unit (Full Time, Night)

At NorthBay Health, Registered Nurses in the Intensive Care Unit deliver safe, effective, high-quality patient care grounded in Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring, Relationship-Based Care, and NorthBay’s professional nursing practice model. In this role, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of patients entrusted to you. Using a therapeutic and professional approach, you will partner with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to promote, maintain, and restore health.

Education:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing.
  • Nursing degree of BSN level or higher is required. (excludes grandfathered
  • employees)

License and Certification:

  • Valid, current and unencumbered RN license issued by the State of California.
  • Current AHA or AHA equivalent BLS and ACLS
  • Telemetry certification within 3 months of employment
  • TNCC certification once in nursing career (must show proof if taken prior to coming to NorthBay Healthcare) or within 18 months of date of hire.
  • National Certification in Critical Care preferred

Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum six month’s acute care (hospital) RN experience, one year in ICU preferred.
  • Competent in providing skilled registered nursing care to ICU level patients
  • Demonstrates skills in the areas including but not limited to: patient assessment, safe utilization of medications, and arrhythmia interpretation.
  • Capable of working independently
  • Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.

Work Hours:

  • FTE: 0.9 (Full-Time)
  • Schedule: 36 hours weekly
  • Shift Length: 12-hour shifts

Other:

  • All RNs in the Patient Care Services Department are required to wear Graphite (Dark Gray) colored scrubs per the professional appearance policy.

Compensation Structure

NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1–5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.

NorthBay Health is primarily an onsite organization due to the nature of healthcare. Some roles may allow hybrid or remote work based on business needs.

Remote work is not supported in Washington, Ohio, Wyoming, North Dakota, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or outside of the United States.
