Clinical Research Coordinator

Boston Children’s Health Physicians is seeking a motivated individual with a commitment to excellence to coordinate research and quality improvement projects as part of the Pediatric Critical Care Medicine (PCCM) division. The research coordinator must be self-sufficient when required, detail-oriented, respectful of confidential information, comfortable in a medical environment and have strong communication skills. An applicant should be able to work 40 hours per week. The hours are mostly flexible with the likelihood of working on some weekends. A minimum of a 1 year commitment is required due to the need for training. Pay rate $20/hr-$20.25/hr, negotiable based on experience.

Key Functions and Expected Performances:

  • Assist in implementation of various research and quality improvement studies
  • Maintain understanding of all research protocols
  • Maintain understanding of quality and safety improvement initiatives
  • Collect data material as it becomes available at various established intervals
  • Accurately collect and maintain complete data in accordance with the needs of the quality improvement initiative, unit information, or research study
  • Demonstrate professional and courteous communication with patients, families, physicians, hospitals, government agencies, and other organizations to collect the necessary data and coordinate information flow
  • Maintain all regulatory documents and IRB compliance for required studies
  • Manage data records, learn and perform data analysis, and create reports
  • Use various computer programs to aid in designing forms and reports

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school graduate required, Bachelors preferred.
  • Experience is preferred but not a requirement.
  • Applicant must be flexible and quickly trainable. The applicant must have excellent computer skills.

Preferred Skills and Experiences:

  • Previous experience in medical information abstraction preferred. Experience in Excel and Word.
  • Previous experience with human subject research a plus.

Additional Information:

  • Background screens will be performed and education will be verified prior to employment.
  • Please be prepared to provide required information and/or documentation to be cleared by Occupational health including Vaccination records, drug screen, etc.
