Job Position
The Clinical Staffing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the nursing department’s (nursing, assisted living and memory care) staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage that meets resident care needs and regulatory requirements. This position works closely with nursing leadership and team members to manage daily staffing, monitor attendance, and communicate schedule changes in a timely and professional manner. Current Kansas certification as a Certified Nurse Aide or Certified Medication Aide is strongly preferred.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain daily and weekly staffing schedules for nursing units.
- Coordinate replacement of call-ins and schedule adjustments to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Utilize scheduling software for data management and reporting of hours for PBJ (Payroll Base Journaling)
- Communicate with nursing supervisors and department heads to assess staffing needs and priorities.
- Track employee attendance, PTO requests, and shift changes in accordance with company policies.
- Collaborate with HR and Payroll to ensure accurate timekeeping and scheduling records.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with state and federal staffing regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service to staff and residents while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Support the hiring and onboarding process for nursing staff when needed.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- Previous experience in staffing coordination, scheduling, or healthcare administration strongly preferred.
- Experience with OnShift or Point Click Care software preferred
- Knowledge of nursing staff roles (CNA, CMA, LPN, RN) and long-term care operations a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical skills and the ability to use data to make informed staffing decisions are essential.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling or HR software (experience with ADP a plus).
