<Overview>
We are seeking a compassionate, licensed Behavioral Therapist (LPC) to join our growing behavioral health team in St. Louis, Missouri. The Licensed Professional Counselor will provide high-quality mental health services including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and individual/family/group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults experiencing behavioral, emotional, and psychological challenges.

Required Credentials
Active, unrestricted (LPC) license in Missouri
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or related field from an accredited institution
- Current professional liability insurance
- Knowledge of Missouri Medicaid and managed care documentation standards
- Background check and Family Care Safety Registry clearance
<Responsibilities>
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to licensed and unlicensed mental health professionals, fostering professional growth and adherence to best practices.
- Oversee intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning for diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
- Lead individual and group therapy sessions utilizing modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), motivational interviewing, and crisis intervention techniques.
- Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis management protocols, ensuring patient safety and appropriate intervention strategies are implemented promptly.
- Ensure accurate documentation of medical records, patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards.
- Coordinate case management activities including home & community care planning, special education collaboration, and hospital or clinical research involvement.
- Facilitate training on behavioral health topics such as trauma-informed care (PTSD), behavior management strategies, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and data collection for research purposes.
<Requirements>
- Valid licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent with a focus on mental health counseling.
- Proven experience in behavioral health settings working with children, individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders, and those requiring crisis intervention or addiction counseling.
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic modalities including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), social work principles, and child & family counseling.
- Familiarity with medical documentation standards, ICD coding systems (ICD-9/10), HIPAA compliance, and electronic health record systems.
- Excellent case management skills with the ability to conduct comprehensive patient assessments and coordinate multidisciplinary care plans.
- Ability to handle crisis situations calmly while applying effective crisis management techniques.
- Experience working within hospital environments or clinical research settings is preferred.
