The Cloud Solutions Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level cloud and DevOps solutions, primarily within Microsoft Azure. This role ensures secure, scalable, and efficient operations across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and identity management systems. The position requires strong technical expertise, leadership in system ownership, and collaboration across IT and development teams to deliver high-quality solutions and services.
- Deploy, manage, and optimize Azure services and features (compute, storage, networking, security) to create scalable, reliable, and cost-effective cloud solutions.
- Administer Azure subscriptions, cost controls, and governance policies.
- Manage Azure DevOps organizations, pipelines, and artifact storage.
- Oversee integrations with GitHub Enterprise and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
- Develop and maintain automation workflows for CI/CD processes using PowerShell and other scripting tools.
- Implement and manage RBAC in the Azure environment.
- Monitor, configure, and optimize cloud resources (VMs, storage, networks, databases).
- Implement security measures (encryption, access controls, firewalls) and ensure compliance with security frameworks.
- Diagnose and resolve cloud and DevOps-related incidents, performance issues, and outages.
- Provide technical support and guidance to engineers, developers, and users.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful cloud projects and deployments.
- Establish and report on metrics for performance, availability, and cost optimization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or AWS Solutions Architect are highly desirable.
- 5+ years in DevOps engineering and cloud infrastructure management, with a focus on Azure environments.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows.
- Deep understanding of Azure services (compute, storage, networking, security) and governance policies.
- Strong knowledge of identity and access management (IAM), including Entra ID, SSO, and Privileged Identity Management (PIM).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, and familiarity with Azure CLI and Resource Manager templates.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise, and Atlassian Suite (Jira, Bitbucket).
- Ability to implement and maintain security best practices, including encryption, firewalls, and access controls.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2) and cloud security standards.
- Skilled in Azure cost analysis and optimization strategies.
- Ability to monitor and troubleshoot performance issues across cloud resources.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and incident management skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with security compliance frameworks.
- Certifications in Azure Fundamentals, Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, or AWS Solutions Architect.
- Experience with cost analysis and management tools.
- Strong documentation abilities.
