CNC Machinist/Programmer

Job Summary

As a CNC Woodworking Programmer / Operative you will be responsible for manufacturing, building and assembling bedrooms and trade orders to the highest of standards, ensuring all jobs are ready and quality checked for the fitting team and/or trade customer collections or deliveries, this includes optimising, programming, setting and operating machinery, making doors, cutting and polishing glass and driving duties as required.

Skills

· Ability to programme, set tooling and operate Homag 3 Axes Nesting CNC router and Biesse Skipper Through Feed drilling machine

· Ability to use woodwork machinery e.g. CNC, routers, panel saws, beam saws, Edge Banders.

· Read technical drawings and create cnc programmes using woodwop and other cnc software

· Read and interpret technical drawings and cut lists

· Select mount and set up tooling (drills, router bits, saw blades) and fixtures. Measure tool offsets and zero points.

· Monitor machining cycles; inspect parts in-process using callipers tape measures squares and templates; adjust feeds speeds, and program parameters.

· Maintain machine cleanliness, lubrication and routine preventative maintenance.

· Report faults and escalate complex failures to technical manager

· Ability to use hand and power tools safely

· Ability to manufacture, build and assemble cabinets, bedroom and/ or office furniture to the highest of standards ready for the fitting team

· The ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships and act as a team player

· Ability to communicate effectively and be able to clearly explain issues to customers and colleagues

· Demonstrates problem solving abilities

· Willingness to undertake further development and responsibilities

· Ability to work to strict deadlines

· Excellent customer service skills

Experience

· Experience of bedroom furniture / cabinet making manufacturing

· Experience of optimising, programming, setting and operating machinery

· Experience of prioritising workload using own initiative and working as part of a team

Desirable

· Forklift Truck Licence

· First Aid

· Any related qualification to CNC woodworking programming and operative role

· Driving Licence

Pay: £31,200.00-£35,360.00 per year
