Job description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines (mills, lathes, or multi-axis equipment) to produce precision parts.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job.
- Perform offsets, tool changes, and adjustments to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary corrections.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and team members to improve processes and reduce downtime.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of CNC machining experience (mills and/or lathes).
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding GD&T.
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and materials.
- Ability to set up machines independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments.
- Basic understanding of CNC programming (G/M code adjustments a plus).
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
- Experience with multi-axis machining.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software.
- Lean manufacturing or process improvement experience.
