CNC Programmer

We are a busy, fast-paced machine shop in Sunnyvale seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join our team. This position is ideal for a highly skilled programmer who thrives in a production environment, takes pride in precision work, and can independently manage complex machining projects from setup through completion.

Responsibilities

• Program, setup, and optimize CNC mills and/or lathes for production and prototype work
• Create and modify toolpaths using CAM software
• Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, and engineering drawings
• Select tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies for efficiency and accuracy
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues on the shop floor
• Work closely with machinists and management to maintain quality and delivery schedules
• Improve cycle times and manufacturing processes where possible
• Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality standards

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of CNC programming experience in a machine shop environment
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, fixturing, and setups
• Proficient in GeoPath and/or Esprit preferred
• Open to candidates experienced with other CAM systems
• Ability to independently program complex parts from print or CAD model
• Experience with prototype and short-run production work preferred
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

Preferred Skills

• Multi-axis machining experience a plus
• Experience with Haas, Fanuc, or similar controls
• CAD/CAM workflow knowledge
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
