We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for manufacturing and repairing precision marine and offshore components. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of machining processes, CAD/CAM software, and marine engineering requirements to support shipbuilding, ship repair, and offshore operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for milling, turning, and machining operations.
- Interpret marine engineering drawings, technical specifications, and 3D models.
- Prepare CNC programs for manufacturing marine components such as shafts, propellers, valves, pumps, engine parts, and structural fittings.
- Select suitable tooling, cutting parameters, and machining methods based on material and job requirements.
- Collaborate with machinists, operators, engineers, and production teams to ensure efficient manufacturing processes.
- Conduct test runs and troubleshoots machining or programming issues.
- Improve cycle times, machining efficiency, and material utilization.
- Ensure all machined parts comply with marine industry quality and safety standards.
- Maintain program libraries, setup sheets, and technical documentation.
- Support machine setup and provide technical guidance to CNC operators.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of CAD/CAM software and CNC systems.
Requirements
- Diploma or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Machining, or related field.
- Proven experience as a CNC Programmer, preferably in marine, shipbuilding, offshore, or heavy engineering industries.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming for milling and turning machines.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, SolidCAM, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or similar systems.
- Ability to read and interpret marine engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, Mazak, or similar CNC control systems.
- Knowledge of machining marine-grade materials such as stainless steel, bronze, duplex, and aluminum.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in ship repair or offshore equipment manufacturing.
- Knowledge of 4-axis or 5-axis CNC machining.
- Familiarity with marine classification standards and quality procedures.
- Understanding of tooling optimization and lean manufacturing practices.
Working Conditions
- Marine workshop, shipyard, or offshore industrial environment.
- May require overtime or urgent support for vessel repair projects.
- Exposure to heavy machinery, industrial equipment, and workshop environments.
