Role Overview

We are looking for a highly precise and detail-oriented CNC Programmer Setter to join our team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in high-precision grinding, with hands-on experience programming, operating, and setting Agathon and Rollomatic CNC grinding machines.

You will be responsible for converting engineering drawings into high-quality, finished tools to tight tolerances, in a high-mix, low-volume production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Programming & Editing: Interpret and edit Fanuc/G-code controls to optimise grinding cycles, adjust parameters, and ensure consistent output quality.
• Machine Setting & Operation: Set up and operate 4/5-axis CNC grinding machines (Agathon 400 Penta, Agathon Combi Plus, and Rollomatic 630XW) to produce precision components to tight tolerances.
• Precision Inspection: Carry out first-off and in-process inspection using manual and electronic measuring equipment to verify dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve machine, tooling, and material issues swiftly to minimise downtime and optimise cycle times.
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all assigned machines to maintain optimal performance and longevity.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to reduce set-up times and drive continuous improvement in process efficiency and quality.
• Quality & Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to ISO quality standards, 5S workplace organisation principles, and all relevant health and safety regulations.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience programming, operating, and setting CNC grinding machines
• Proficiency with Agathon and/or Rollomatic machines (preferred)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
• Experience with Fanuc/G-code controls for grinding applications
• Competent in the use of manual and electronic measurement equipment
• Familiarity with ISO quality systems and 5S methodology
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
