Job Title: CNC Turner (Large Work)

Working Pattern:

Day shift: Monday – Thursday 7:00am – 4:30pm, Friday – 7:00 – 1:00pm

Regular Overtime - Premium pay entitlement for any day shift in excess of 7.4 hours

Night Shift: Monday - Thursday 6:30pm - 7:00am (all Night shift hrs at Std Rate x1.5)

Shift patterns are Constant day shift, 2-week rotation and constant Night shift

The Role

Due to continued growth and expansion, we have an immediate opportunity for skilled and experienced CNC Turner to join our team. The successful candidates will work be joining a long-standing team based at our works in the Team Valley, Gateshead.

Key Responsibilities

• Operation of allocation machines to produce the work identified on issued route card and drawings.
• Check that correct information is provided on the route card, eg. checking drawing number and issue status match that described on drawing.
• Checking that material used is identified with job number and of correct type and dimensions.
• Production of work to the standards and tolerances defined on the drawing/specification or to the company’s standards where none are defined.
• Signing/initialling route card to confirm that stages of work have been completed to a satisfactory standard.
• Carrying out defined regular maintenance and maintaining good housekeeping in and around your allocated machine(s).
• Be aware of, and try to adhere to, operation times defined on route card, highlight to supervisor when these are not practical.
• To carry out activities additional to the above as identified by the supervisor.
• Follow the requirements of the company’s Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety system procedures and the responsibilities defined therein for your job title.

About you:

The successful candidate will have multi-machine experience within a production environment. FANUC/MAZATROL knowledge would be preferred, but all turning skills will be considered and training can be provided. You must be able to produce engineered components from engineering CAD drawings working to tight tolerances

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

• Minimum 4 years CNC Turning experience of programming, setting and operating large CNC Lathes of up to 700mm diameter.
• Ideally experienced with using FANUC controls but not essential as training can be provided.
• A very good understanding of engineering drawings.
• Ability and knowledge of machining a range of materials to tight tolerances.
• Able to use various types of measuring equipment.
• Ability to work with the minimum of supervision.
• Previous experience of working in a similar subcontract manufacturing environment is preferred.
