Job Title: Commercial Analyst

Position Summary
The Commercial Analyst will directly support the Chief Operating Officer (COO) in commercial, contractual, and cost-control functions across all divisions of the company. The role requires strong analytical capability to evaluate project costs, scope comparisons (pre- and post-contract), budget approvals, procurement documentation, and contractual obligations.
The candidate will act as a commercial control resource within the COO’s office, coordinating with operational and support departments to ensure financial discipline, compliance, and cost efficiency across projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Pre-Contract Responsibilities
- Analyze tender documents, BOQs, specifications, and drawings.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis and scope comparison between tender and execution stages.
- Review technical and commercial comparison sheets from procurement teams.
- Support the COO in evaluating subcontractor and supplier bids.
- Identify commercial risks, exclusions, and scope gaps.
- Assist in value engineering and cost optimization strategies.
2. Post-Contract Responsibilities
- Review project budgets and ensure alignment with approved estimates.
- Monitor cost commitments vs. approved budgets.
- Verify purchase requests, LPOs, subcontract agreements, and payment certifications.
- Assist in change order evaluation and variation cost assessment.
- Support in claims analysis and commercial negotiations.
- Review interim valuations and final accounts before COO approval.
3. Budget & Procurement Review
- Verify budget approvals and ensure compliance with company authority matrix.
- Review technical and commercial comparison sheets before finalization.
- Evaluate procurement documentation for accuracy and cost effectiveness.
- Ensure proper documentation of cost justifications and approvals.
4. Contract Administration & Compliance
- Review main contracts, subcontracts, and consultancy agreements.
- Identify contractual risks, obligations, and liabilities.
- Coordinate with legal and project teams on contractual matters.
- Assist in dispute resolution and claims preparation.
5. Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with:
- Civil & Infrastructure Division
- Interior Fit-Out Division
- MEP Contracting & Maintenance Teams
- Landscape & Swimming Pool Division
- Hard & Soft Services Teams
- Trading & Procurement Department
- Finance & Accounts
- Prepare commercial analysis reports and dashboards for COO.
- Present comparative cost studies and financial risk summaries.
- Support COO in strategic commercial decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
- 10 years of experience in multi-disciplinary contracting environments, in GCC region.
- Strong exposure to civil, MEP, fit-out, and maintenance contracts.
- Experience in both pre- and post-contract commercial management.
- Proficiency in BOQ preparation, cost estimation, and contract review.
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC or similar contract frameworks (preferred).
