Commercial Director – Development & Construction

📍 Muscat, Oman

A leading organization in the development and construction industry is seeking a seasoned Commercial Director to lead the commercial strategy and performance across a portfolio of major projects.

This role requires a strategic and commercially astute leader with deep expertise in managing complex, multi-project environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee all commercial functions across multiple large-scale development projects
• Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximize project value and profitability
• Manage the full contract lifecycle including tendering, negotiation, award, and administration
• Oversee procurement strategies and ensure alignment with project delivery objectives
• Lead cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial control across projects
• Ensure robust cost management and value engineering throughout the project lifecycle
• Manage relationships with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers
• Drive commercial governance, compliance, and risk management practices
• Lead claims management, dispute resolution, and contract negotiations
• Provide strategic commercial insights to senior leadership and project teams
• Establish and monitor KPIs to drive commercial performance and accountability
• Build and lead a high-performing commercial team across multiple projects

Requirements:

• Minimum 15+ years of experience , including 10+ years within development & construction
• Strong track record in commercial leadership across large-scale projects
• Deep expertise in contracts, procurement, and cost management
• Excellent negotiation, financial, and analytical skills
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence and drive results
