Commercial Director – Construction Equipment & Machinery

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

On behalf of our client in Kuwait, we are seeking a Commercial Director who is responsible for leading the company’s overall commercial strategy, driving sustainable revenue growth, profitability, and operational excellence across all business divisions. This role combines strategic leadership, financial acumen, and operational execution to ensure the organization’s competitive advantage in the construction equipment, heavy machinery, and power tools sectors.

As a member of the senior leadership team, the Commercial Director will oversee sales, marketing, operations, supply chain, and after-sales service, ensuring the company achieves its financial, strategic, and customer satisfaction objectives.

The ideal candidate is a visionary and decisive leader capable of influencing key stakeholders, optimizing business performance, and driving long-term strategic growth.


Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Business Growth

  • Develop and execute the company’s commercial strategy to achieve revenue, profitability, and market share objectives.
  • Lead the formulation of long-term strategic plans, including market expansion, product diversification, and competitive positioning.
  • Oversee and manage the company’s P&L performance, ensuring financial health and operational efficiency.
  • Identify and evaluate strategic partnerships, alliances, and investment opportunities to drive sustainable growth.
  • Translate corporate vision into actionable business objectives across sales, operations, and service functions.

2. Commercial Management & Market Development

  • Direct and oversee all sales and business development activities to expand the customer base and strengthen market presence.
  • Build and nurture strategic relationships with key clients, suppliers, and distributors, ensuring long-term value creation.
  • Monitor market dynamics, competitor activities, and emerging trends to shape responsive strategies.
  • Drive contract negotiation and pricing strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate profitability goals.

3. Operations, Supply Chain & Service Excellence

  • Oversee end-to-end operations, including procurement, logistics, and inventory management, ensuring cost efficiency and reliability.
  • Champion process optimization and digital transformation to improve service delivery and reduce operational waste.
  • Ensure world-class after-sales support and warranty management, reinforcing brand trust and customer loyalty.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards across all operational areas.

4. Financial & Performance Oversight

  • Develop and manage annual budgets, sales forecasts, and performance dashboards.
  • Analyze financial reports and KPIs to identify growth levers and cost optimization opportunities.
  • Lead initiatives for margin improvement, cost control, and operational efficiency.
  • Report regularly to the CEO and Board on performance outcomes, challenges, and growth initiatives.

5. Leadership & People Development

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a cross-functional team of sales, operations, and service professionals across multiple business units.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and performance excellence.
  • Build organizational capability through coaching, training, and succession planning.
  • Champion diversity, collaboration, and empowerment across the organization.


Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in commercial, sales, or operations leadership within construction equipment, heavy machinery, or industrial sectors, including at least 7 years in a senior management or director role.
  • Proven record in P&L management, market expansion, and strategic partnerships.
