Commercial Escrow Assistant

Description: Manage and control the closing process for complex single site and multi-site commercial real estate transactions. Tasks include preparation of closing documents, preparation of settlement statements and assembly of closing documents. Read and carefully review complicated instructions and agreements related to closings. Should be able to prioritize and be able to make independent decisions. Works closely with title officers and underwriting to solve issues. Superior verbal and written communication skills required with the experience necessary to effectively handle and address any situation that surfaces during the process.

Responsibilities:

• Open escrows and collect the required instructions, documents and funds necessary for closing.
• Manage work flow and provide customer support to counsel, buyers, sellers, borrowers, real estate agents, mortgage brokers and lenders.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with customers and build relationships.
• Adhere to company policy and procedures.
• Gather and confirm the accuracy of closing documents.
• Collect all documents necessary to clear title. Remain neutral at all times.

Requirements:

• 2 - 5 years of escrow experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to quickly assess situations and make decisions.
• Ability to multi-task, organize, analyze and distribute information. Must be able to spot and address irregularities or issues.
• Detail- oriented, task driven, and professional. Able to handle confidential information and documents.
• Must have excellent math and/or accounting skills.
• Willingness to help train new employees.
• Provide timely customer support.
• Ensure compliance with instructions.
