Commercial Landscape Project Engineer
The Commercial Landscape Project Engineer supports Project Managers in the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial landscape and irrigation construction projects. This role is critical in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with plans, specifications, and company standards.
The Project Engineer acts as a key link between field operations, vendors, subcontractors, and office staff.
Project Coordination
- Assist Project Managers with daily project operations and documentation
- Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables
- Support project setup, including submittals, RFIs, and procurement
Procurement & Materials Management
- Source and procure irrigation components, landscape & hardscape materials
- Coordinate with vendors to confirm availability and lead times
- Track deliveries and ensure materials meet project specifications
Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and closeout documents
- Assist with contract submissions, compliance, and GC-required documentation
- Manage COIs, P&P Bonds, and request Consent of Surety as needed
- Obtain irrigation permits and coordinate inspections
- Prepare and submit payment applications, including GC billing forms. Manage lien releases, including collection from vendors and subcontractors
- Ensure compliance with contract documents, plans, and specifications
- Complete and submit pre-qualification forms.
- Occasionally assist Estimator in completing qualification forms for bidding purposes.
Financial Tracking
- Assist with budgeting, cost tracking, and forecasting
- Support billing processes, including quantity tracking and pay applications
- Monitor project costs and identify potential overruns
Field Support
- Assist PM in occasionally conduct site visits to monitor progress and quality
- Assist with problem-solving and coordination between trades
- Ensure safety standards and company policies are followed
Qualifications
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Familiarity with project management software (Procore, Revu, Textura, Trimble, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Valid driver’s license
Pay: $50,000.00 per year
