Commercial Lead
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Lead to oversee the full commercial lifecycle of construction projects in Rwanda. This role is responsible for budgeting, cost control, forecasting, contract administration, and ensuring projects are delivered within approved financial and contractual parameters.
The position plays a key role in both pre-tender (estimation & pricing) and post-tender (execution & commercial management) phases, ensuring alignment between tender strategy and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project commercial activities including budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting
- Manage project cash flow, forecasting, and profitability
- Oversee contract administration, variations, claims, and subcontract management
- Coordinate with internal teams (Project, Finance, Procurement, Legal) and external stakeholders
- Ensure accurate cost tracking using ERP systems (AX/D365) and maintain data integrity
- Support tendering activities, pricing strategy, and procurement processes
- Identify commercial risks and drive value engineering initiatives
- Lead and mentor the commercial/QS team
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Commercial/Construction Management, Finance, or related field
- Strong experience in construction commercial management and cost control
- Proven expertise in contracts, procurement, budgeting, forecasting, and claims management
- Experience with ERP systems (AX/D365 preferred)
- Strong leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
