Role Purpose:

The Commercial Manager is responsible for managing the commercial, financial, and contractual aspects of large-scale telecommunications and ICT projects. The role ensures that all commercial activities are aligned with corporate objectives, profitability targets, and governance standards. This position plays a key role in supporting strategic decision-making, developing financial models, and producing executive-level reporting for mega projects and complex enterprise deals.


Key Responsibilities:


Commercial Management

  • Lead commercial planning, analysis, and execution for high-value telecom and ICT projects, including government and enterprise accounts.
  • Oversee commercial evaluations, pricing models, and bid strategies to ensure profitability and competitiveness.
  • Review and negotiate commercial terms and conditions in collaboration with legal, finance, and procurement teams.

Reporting & Financial Oversight

  • Develop comprehensive commercial and financial reports for mega projects, highlighting revenue performance, cost structure, margins, and risk exposure.
  • Support management with periodic dashboards, forecasts, and performance summaries for strategic initiatives.
  • Track contract execution, billing, and project-level profitability to ensure financial integrity and compliance.

Governance & Coordination

  • Ensure adherence to internal approval processes, delegation of authority, and financial governance policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution of commercial deliverables and customer commitments.
  • Provide commercial insight and recommendations to senior management for decision-making on bids, renewals, and strategic partnerships.

Strategic Support

  • Participate in business case development and long-term planning for major telecom and ICT opportunities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of commercial policies, tools, and templates to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.


Qualifications & Experience:

• Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field (CA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CFA is preferred).

• 8–12 years of experience in the telecommunications and ICT sectors, with proven exposure to large-scale projects and strategic deals.

• Strong background in commercial management, pricing, financial modelling, and contract governance.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial reporting tools, and data analysis.

• Experience in working with multi-functional teams including sales, project management, finance, and legal.

• Excellent communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
