Our dynamic commercial title practice group represents national clients on sophisticated deals across multiple jurisdictions. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented title attorney to join our growing commercial title practice. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience conducting and reviewing full title searches for both commercial and residential properties, and resolving complex title issues involving assemblages, estates, and special proceedings. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional looking to make a meaningful impact in commercial real estate law within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and review full title searches for commercial and residential properties
  • Identify and resolve title defects, including issues related to estates, foreclosures, boundary disputes, and more
  • Draft and review title opinions, curative documents, and real estate closing documentation
  • Handle complex title matters, including assemblages, estates, and special proceedings
  • Provide legal guidance to clients, including individuals, businesses, and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with clients, lenders, surveyors, and other attorneys to ensure legal compliance and accuracy
  • Negotiate and mediate title-related disputes, including boundary or ownership conflicts
  • Ensure full compliance with North Carolina state and federal real estate laws
  • Accurately track and report billable hours in a detailed and timely manner

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active North Carolina law license in good standing
  • 3–5+ years of experience in a law firm setting, with a focus on real estate and title law
  • Demonstrated expertise in commercial title searches
  • Proficiency with title search systems and legal research tools
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience handling estate-related title issues and probate matters
  • Knowledge of land assemblages and associated legal challenges
  • Prior involvement in special proceedings under North Carolina law

  • Strong research, writing, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze complex legal documents and perform due diligence

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
