Commis Chef

Job Summary:

The Commis Chef is responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes under the supervision of senior chefs. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and consistency in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of menu items as directed by the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
• Ensure all ingredients are prepared and stored properly in accordance with food safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen area at all times.
• Follow all recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.
• Support in receiving, checking, and properly storing deliveries.
• Report any food spoilage or shortages to the supervisor.
• Comply with all hygiene, health, and safety guidelines and HACCP standards.
• Ensure all equipment and utensils are properly cleaned and maintained.
• Assist in setting up stations and ensuring mise en place is ready before service.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during busy service hours.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a similar role (preferred in catering, hotel, or restaurant industry).
• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
• Understanding of hygiene and food safety practices.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude, team player, and willingness to learn.
• Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts or equivalent qualification (preferred).

Skills:

• Basic cooking and knife skills.

• Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays when required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED1,300.00 - AED2,200.00 per month
