Commis Chef – Butchery Kitchen - voco Cairo Arabella Plaza

We are looking for a Commis Chef – Butchery Kitchen who will support the culinary team in preparing and portioning meats, poultry, and seafood, ensuring quality, consistency, and safety in line with IHG culinary standards.

A little taste of your day-to-day:
Every day is different at IHG, but you’ll mostly be:

• Assisting in the preparation, trimming, cutting, and portioning of meats, poultry, and seafood.
• Ensuring proper storage, labeling, and rotation of butchery items.
• Supporting senior chefs in maintaining portion control and reducing waste.
• Preparing mise en place for the kitchen and banquet operations.
• Maintaining hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards in the butchery section.
• Using knives and equipment safely and responsibly.
• Assisting in inventory checks and requisitions for butchery items.
• Collaborating with the kitchen team to meet daily service and event requirements.

What we need from you:

• Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts.
• 1–2 years’ kitchen experience, preferably in butchery within a 4/5-star hotel.
• Basic knowledge of meat and seafood preparation techniques.
• Strong knife handling and food safety skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player with attention to detail and consistency.
