Communications & Digital Media Strategist (Remote, Part-Time)

About the Role
We’re seeking a strategic, creative Communications & Digital Media Strategist to lead and grow our digital presence. This role is ideal for a self-directed communications professional who can manage content, analyze performance, and engage a diverse audience including patients, clinicians, and donors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute multi-platform social media strategy (e.g. IG, FB, Reddit, X, LinkedIn, YouTube)
- Create and manage a content calendar
- Produce engaging content (graphics, captions, short-form video)
- Translate complex health information into accessible content
- Track analytics and optimize engagement
- Support newsletters, campaigns, and fundraising efforts
- Engage with the community and monitor feedback
- Identify and vet partnerships and collaborators
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
- Proven experience managing multi-platform social media accounts (portfolio required)
- Experience with Canva, Adobe tools, video editing, and AI tools
- Strong writing, editing, and content strategy skills
- Experience managing content calendars and using project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Trello)
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, CRM platforms, and scheduling tools (e.g., Buffer or similar)
- Experience with Google Ads and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, social media insights tools)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Highly detail-oriented with a proven ability to maintain thorough documentation of work activities, time tracking, and project progress in shared systems
- Trauma-informed communication skills with empathy for diverse populations
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
- Prior experience in nonprofit and/or healthcare settings
- Experience with fundraising campaigns and donor communications
- Demonstrated interest in maternal health
