Communication Design Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Review and manage design submissions for communication and ICT systems including structured cabling, data networks, fiber optics, and communication rooms.
• Review and validate ELV systems such as CCTV, access control, public address, IPTV, intercom, SMATV, wireless networks, and audiovisual systems.
• Ensure all designs comply with project specifications, security protocols, authority regulations, and international standards.
• Coordinate with architectural, electrical, and mechanical teams to ensure proper integration of ICT and ELV systems.
• Review material submittals, shop drawings, system schematics, and as-built documentation.
• Conduct technical evaluations of proposed systems, vendors, and technology solutions.
• Lead clash detection and interface coordination with other disciplines for equipment rooms, cable routing, and infrastructure.
• Support design review meetings, track comments, and ensure timely resolution of outstanding issues.
• Prepare technical reports, design assessments, and compliance summaries as part of PMC deliverables.
• Monitor contractor progress and ensure installation aligns with approved designs and quality standards.
• Supervise the testing, commissioning, and validation of communication and ELV systems.
• Review system integration plans and ensure interoperability between various communication and security systems.
• Verify equipment rack layouts, data center arrangements, and ICT infrastructure for reliability and redundancy.
• Ensure cybersecurity considerations are incorporated into all communication system designs.
• Provide technical guidance on value engineering proposals without compromising performance or security.
• Ensure the contractor provides complete O&M manuals, training materials, and system documentation.
Support coordination for military, high-security, or restricted-access communication requirements.

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in communication and ELV system design, preferably on large-scale institutional or security projects.
• Strong understanding of ICT infrastructure, structured cabling, ELV systems, and related international standards.
• Proficiency in design and review tools used for communication and ELV engineering.
• Previous experience in a PMC environment with strong knowledge of design review procedures.
• Strong coordination, documentation, and communication skills.
