Job Description

Job Title: Communications Specialist

Contract Duration: Through June 2026

Average Weekly Hours: ~20 hours/week

Location: mostly remote, some onsite/occasional meetings East Metro Twin Cities

Rate: 47.52 - 59.40 w2


Position Summary:

We are seeking a Communications Specialist to support the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) transformation program. This role is responsible for crafting and delivering timely, engaging content and visual assets that effectively communicate the program’s story and objectives. The ideal candidate will ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment across internal communication channels to drive employee engagement and support change initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and publish content for internal platforms including intranet, portals, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Design and produce visual assets such as presentations, infographics, banners, and templates.
  • Coordinate and execute communication activities including email campaigns, newsletters, town hall materials, and digital postings.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Lead to align messaging with enterprise communication strategies and calendars.
  • Manage logistics for communication events, including scheduling and follow-up messaging.
  • Monitor engagement metrics and provide insights to enhance communication effectiveness.
  • Maintain a centralized repository of communication materials for consistency and reuse.
  • Support program leaders and team members in delivering clear, audience-appropriate communications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Design, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in internal communications or marketing roles.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in collaboration and intranet tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, SharePoint).
  • Experience with design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deliverables under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills, especially with leadership and change management teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Experience in communications for large-scale change or ERP programs is a plus.
