As our Communications Coordinator, you’ll play a central role in telling these stories. You’ll help South Dakotans see the real, lasting impact of philanthropy—and inspire more of it.


Position Overview

This new position offers a unique opportunity to blend strategy with implementation. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Communications Coordinator will support organization‑wide communication efforts (both internal and external), develop compelling messaging and share stories of impact across a variety of platforms.

What You’ll Do

  • Champion brand consistency across all materials and channels
  • Create content for websites, social media, digital and print
  • Write, edit and proofread copy for diverse audiences
  • Design visual assets such as ads, mailers, posters and newsletters
  • Draft media releases and build relationships with media outlets
  • Manage our digital asset library, including shooting/editing video
  • Manage mailing lists and distribute communications across platforms
  • Support SEO efforts and paid digital campaigns
  • Strengthen internal communications
  • Select, order and maintain promotional item inventory

What You Should Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or a related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A positive attitude and ability to adapt
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Graphic design and video production skills a plus
  • Familiarity with tools such as Hootsuite, Canva, email marketing software, and content management systems
  • Communications related work experience preferred
