Communications Coordinator

Central Louisiana Technical Community College (CLTCC) serves the communities of Central Louisiana through five campuses—Alexandria Main Campus, Huey P. Long Campus (Winnfield), Ferriday Campus, Rod Brady Campus (Jena), and Ward H. Nash Avoyelles Campus (Cottonport)—as well as multiple correctional instructional sites.

Position is domiciled at the Main Campus in Alexandria.

SUMMARY:

The Communications Coordinator reports to the Executive Director of Advancement & Community Relations and supports the mission of Central Louisiana Technical Community College (CLTCC) by further developing, implementing, and coordinating high-quality communications and marketing efforts that promote the College's programs, initiatives, people, and impact throughout the region. Working collaboratively with leadership, and an existing team that support outreach this position ensures consistent messaging across platforms and enhances CLTCC's visibility, brand, and community presence.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and distribute communications across internal and external channels.
  • Manage CLTCC's social media presence and create digital content.
  • Produce press releases, newsletters, and promotional materials.
  • Support communications planning for college initiatives and events.
  • Coordinate photography, videography, media relations, and interviews.
  • Maintain website content and ensure brand alignment
  • Support Advancement and Foundation communications, donor messaging, and marketing.
  • Maintain communications project calendars and archives.
  • Prepare presentations and reports related to communications.
  • Assist with event promotion and onsite support
  • Assist in event planning for the college and campuses.
  • Support as needed for meeting preparation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

● Strong writing, planning, customer services, presentation, and organizational skills.

● Knowledge of communications strategy, marketing practices, and public relations.

● Ability to work independently and collaboratively, maintaining confidentiality, and meet deadlines

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, English, or related field.
  • 1-2 years of communications, marketing, journalism, or related experience.
  • Strong writing, editing, communication, and storytelling skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media tools.
  • Basic skills in design, photography, or video.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism

Preferred (Desired) Qualifications:

  • Higher education communications experience.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CMS systems, and analytics tools.
  • Experience promoting events or public relations campaigns
  • Experience in creating multimedia content
  • Ability to develop organizational social media strategies.
  • Experience supporting fundraising or donor communication.

Additional Requirements:

A valid Louisiana Driver’s License

Proof of motor vehicle insurance
