THE CINCINNATI WOMAN’S CLUB
The 725 members of this 501(c)(3) volunteer-led nonprofit actively carry out the 1894 founders’ mission to impact and enrich the community through philanthropic action and educational opportunities. Situated in Cincinnati’s Clifton neighborhood, its Clubhouse is alive with weekday activities from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with occasional evening and weekend events.
We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented communicator who enjoys bringing ideas to life through print and digital media and is looking to manage and elevate communications across multiple platforms. This is a hands-on role perfect for someone who enjoys writing, design, production and collaboration. The position is fully on premises with business casual attire required.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As our Communications Coordinator, you will play a central role in keeping members informed, engaged, and connected. You’ll coordinate and post the daily, weekly, and monthly printed and e-based communications including composing, editing, designing layouts, selecting graphics, copyediting, proofreading, and managing the production of material to effectively support the advancement of goals of the Club and convey the mission.
Responsibilities include:
· Create and facilitate the printing and mailing of the monthly newsletter, including layout of submitted written content in coordination with contributors
· Produce yearly printed items such as Annual Yearbook and Calendar
· Create and distribute weekly e-newsletter
· Design and produce communications and printed items in coordination with members for special events
· Proofread communications for accuracy and completeness
· Maintain Club website, electronic bulletin boards, and historical files of Club communications
· Print materials using laser copier and bindery equipment to create materials in-house or coordinate with external vendors as needed
· Oversee communication expenses to ensure they are within budget
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
· Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, English, Communications or related field
· Previous production of a Club or Corporate Newsletter or similar publication
· Proficiency in graphic design work using Adobe InDesign
· Proficiency in computer skills with ability to use Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and Canva
· Demonstrated ability to learn new computer skills involved in proprietary software
· Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills
· Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines
· Work schedule 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
· Starting salary $25.00 per hour
