POSITION SUMMARY
The Communications Specialist supports the development and execution of clear, timely and engaging communications for our internal team members. The Communications Specialist will report to the Director of Corporate Communications and will partner with their leadership to create and deploy a communications strategy that ensures our team members are well informed and aligned with our organizational priorities, effectively leveraging all our internal channel.
This position will focus primarily on internal corporate communications, while also contributing to social media content, press materials and crisis communications in partnership with the Marketing & Communications team.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required; degree in communications, public relations or journalism preferred
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years prior experience in journalism, corporate communications and/or public relations required.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the technical competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires some walking/standing and may have prolonged periods of sitting. Works with such equipment as computer terminal, fax machine, printer, telephone and copier. Position requires some travel, flexibility of hours including weekends, evenings and on-call coverage as well as lifting up to 20 lbs. Essential functions for this position are listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.

This position reports to department leadership.
