The Organization
The Fiesta Sports Foundation mission is to be a world-class community organization, dedicated to providing premier college football bowl experiences and local events that serve as economic drivers for Arizona and provide charitable resources for our community. As a nonprofit organization, we believe in the importance of fostering a culture of community outreach and service.
Based in Scottsdale, AZ, the Fiesta Sports Foundation hosts a variety of local events each year, as well as two elite bowl games, the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl held at State Farm Stadium and the Rate Bowl held at Chase Field. The Vrbo Fiesta Bowl, Rate Bowl and events, Fiesta Sports Foundation has given nearly $35 million to the Arizona community in the last 15 years.
The Position
The Fiesta Sports Foundation is searching for a Community Engagement Coordinator to support the work of the Community Engagement (CE) team. This position will support and report to the Director of Community Engagement. The ideal candidate will have experience with event management and previous experience in the education or nonprofit sector.
Responsibilities
  • Support the Fiesta Sports Foundation grant cycle and Empowering Diversity scholarship, including data reporting and management within ACF software.
  • Coordinate Community Engagement (CE) programs and initiatives to strengthen the Fiesta Sports Foundation brand in Arizona, including Wishes for Teachers, Spirit’s Birthday Party, playground builds, and teacher lounge refreshes.
  • Manage a select portfolio of assigned Fiesta Sports Foundation events from planning through execution.
  • Contribute content for Vrbo Fiesta Bowl and Rate Bowl publications, including Entertainment Guides, Game Programs, Media Guides, newsletters, and the Annual Community Impact Report.
  • Capture photo and video content for Foundation community events to enhance digital storytelling in collaboration with the Marketing Team.
  • Plan and facilitate periodic volunteer opportunities for the Committee, Board, Ambassadors, and staff.
  • Support the “Spirit” mascot program, identifying and creating promotional opportunities at community events.
  • Administer the charitable ticket donation campaign, ensuring the strategic distribution of event tickets to community partners.
  • Maintain the Community Engagement inventory for promotional giveaway items.
  • Facilitate the 50/50 raffle for the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl and Rate Bowl, including volunteer recruitment and logistical support.
  • Provide execution support for third-party sanctioned events and ancillary Foundation events, such as the Par 3 Challenge, Spring Summit, Youth Football Clinic, and Parade.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field highly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
  • Desire to be part of a hardworking, collaborative, fun, and values-driven team
