Summary:
The Community Engagement Manager (CEM) works collaboratively with the Outreach and Development Committee’s volunteers to develop and coordinate event programming. They plan and implement timely communications about events and other ACT conservation news through multiple channels, including a monthly newsletter, website, social media, and press releases. The CEM supports ACT’s fundraising efforts by coordinating fundraising appeals, managing the donor database and processing donations. The CEM collaborates with the Outreach and Development Committees to share our story and create meaningful events and communications to expand our supporter base and attract financial support.
Qualifications:
- Self-starter.
- Strong administrative background.
- Highly competent and comfortable with technology. We are a PC-based organization and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite i.e. Outlook email & calendar, SharePoint, Teams, Word, and Excel is required.
- Ability to manage multiple Outlook email accounts.
- Comfortable hosting Zoom meetings.
- Experience with or willingness to learn our donor database and digital marketing platforms (i.e. DonorPerfect, Constant Contact, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud).
- Website maintenance and social media skills (knowledge of Squarespace and Meta platforms).
- Graphic design, digital formatting, other creative/artistic skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud).
- Ability to balance multiple projects, schedules.
- Motivation to learn new platforms and increase skills by taking online training / webinars.
- Strong writing, storytelling and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think critically and creatively and anticipate potential needs in event planningand implementation.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Enjoy meeting and getting to know new people.
- Creative problem solver.
- Ability and willingness to work some evenings and weekends.
- Physically able to hike on and off trail while leading a group of people of diverse ages and abilities.
- Experience working in a non-profit environment.
- Willingness to become CPR certified.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Outreach:
- Work to sustain, strengthen and grow ACT’s community partnerships and donor base.
- Partner, build and maintain relationships with local businesses and organizations that share ACT’s mission.
- Be network resourceful in helping to identify speakers and experts on topics that alignwith ACT’s mission and values.
- Manage ACT's social media presence (Facebook & Instagram) and website.
- Participate in and actively support the Outreach Committee in planning, implementation and evaluation of events.
- Track event registrations and communicate with event hosts, presenters, venues, and registrants.
- Create ACT’s monthly newsletter. Create press releases, and presentations. Design promotional materials.
- Help identify media outlets to extend ACT’s reach in the community.
- Design and source ACT merchandise.
- Maintain and update the StoryWalk® trails on ACT lands
Development:
- Process donations, update donor database (DonorPerfect), and create donor acknowledgement letters.
- Assist with content for fundraising campaigns and coordinate campaign mailings.
- Support the Development Committee in planning, implementation and evaluation of fundraising events.
- Work with the Executive Director and committee chairs to design and create ACT’s annual report.
Staff & Volunteers:
- Attend Staff, Outreach Committee and Development Committee meetings; attend other meetings as needed.
- Engage and grow ACT’s community of volunteers and ensure that their experience with ACT is personally fulfilling and results in clear and tangible community benefit(s).
- Plan and host annual volunteer appreciation event.
- Other duties as assigned.

Pay: $52,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year
