Community Facilitator (Male)

Scope and Objectives:

Sungi is seeking the following position for its intended project in KP and Punjab Province which will to promote the rights of children, women, youth, persons with disabilities (PWDs), minorities and transgender persons and other marginalised groups, to strengthen their control over their own development.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Community Facilitator will be part of the two-member team (female/male) who will be responsible for community mobilisation, establishing village forums, facilitating dialogue with stakeholders, disseminating information and raising awareness, managing referrals, facilitating village level mechanisms of EWS/ERM and supporting capacity development of community members and volunteers and village forum members.

The key responsibilities

1. Holding community dialogues for formation of the Village Forums (VFs) and engage with key community stakeholders;

2. Lead the process of VF formation and support the members in managing the VF meetings and activities. Each Community Facilitator will manage 3 Village Forums. Each VF preferably will have representation from 3-5 villages;

3. Facilitate the VF office bearers/management committee in developing VF work plans, maintaining records, organizing activities and holding dialogues etc.

4. Create awareness and share information about the program theme themes i.e. r, early and forced marriages, gender-based violence, other harmful practices and social cohesion etc. at the community level and target villages;

5. Information provision to communities including legal information about relevant laws, information related to various government policies and programmes;

6. Facilitate behavior change by sensitising key stakeholders e.g. elders, influencers and specific service providers and support leadership development among the marginalised groups;

7. Support the community in accessing the referral system at the Tehsil and district level to channel their issues and concerns to relevant government and non-government service providers and support structures and mechanism (legal aid referrals to government services, CSOs, GBV, possible pool of pro bono legal aid, social protection, BISP, EHSAS, etc.);

8. Facilitate VFs in Early Warning System (EWS) development and functioning;

9. Support development of Early Response Mechanisms (ERM) in village forums and their referrals in collaboration with the volunteer to relevant mandated and non-mandated structures, for example the Child Protection and Women Protection Committees, Child Labor Committees, District Vigilance Committees, Vigilance Committees (Punjab)/Police Liaison Councils (KP);

Qualifications and Experience

1). Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or related field (Master’s preferred).

2). 3–4 years’ experience in community mobilization, social organization, or rights-based projects.

3). Strong facilitation and communication skills with knowledge of local context and languages.
