Compensation Analyst - Human Resources

Position Summary

The Compensation Analyst supports the design, analysis, and administration of Archbold’s compensation programs to ensure internal equity, external competitiveness, and regulatory compliance. This position partners closely with HR leadership, Finance, and department leaders to design and administer compensation strategies that attract and retain top healthcare talent while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities

Compensation Program Management

  • Administer and maintain job descriptions, pay structures, and compensation policies in alignment with organizational philosophy and market competitiveness.
  • Develop and maintain salary structures and incentive programs for clinical and non-clinical roles.
  • Support annual market review cycles, structure adjustments, and pay range recalibrations
  • Partner with HR Management and Talent Acquisition to evaluate new and existing positions for appropriate placement within salary structures.
  • Maintain compensation data within the HRIS, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality.
  • Review and implement compensation policies that comply with federal and state regulations (FLSA, Stark Law, FMV).
  • Maintains and supports the Performance Evaluation and the Leader Evaluation Manager Systems

Job Evaluation, Market Analysis & Benchmarking

  • Participate in and interpret market survey results from trusted healthcare industry sources (e.g., Gallagher, Mercer, Compdata, AON, Vizient).
  • Analyze competitive pay positioning and provide recommendations to maintain market alignment and pay equity.
  • Prepare detailed analyses on compensation trends, pay compression, and internal equity.
  • Review and evaluate job descriptions, recommending appropriate salary grades
  • Maintain job architecture and ensure consistency across departments.
  • Collaborate with HR and department leaders to update job descriptions as needed.

Data Analytics & Reporting

  • Performs complex compensation modeling and cost impact analysis.
  • Prepares reports, dashboards and executive summaries and recommendations for leadership.
  • Monitors pay equity and conduct audits to ensure compliance.
  • Ensures data accuracy in HRIS and compensation systems.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensures compliance with FLSA and other wage and hour regulations.
  • Supports internal audits and respond to regulatory inquiries as needed.
  • Assists in the development and communication of compensation strategy, policies and procedures.
  • Maintains documentation and data integrity to support regulatory and accreditation reviews.

Advisory & Partnership

  • Advise HR leaders and managers on pay recommendations, offer development, and promotional increases.
  • Support compensation communication and education initiatives for leaders to promote understanding of pay practices.
  • Contribute to special projects such as market adjustments, incentive plan design, and workforce optimization studies.

Qualifications


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or similar certification preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of progressive experience in compensation or HR analytics, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong knowledge of FLSA classification, compensation methodology, and salary survey tools.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Advanced Excel and data analysis proficiency; experience with HRIS (e.g., Lawson, Workday, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to partner effectively across HR, Finance, and Operations.
  • Working knowledge of FLSA and other wage and hour regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
