The Compliance Attorney will oversee the firm’s processes on Statutes of Limitations (SOL) compliance, lien and subrogation compliance, and conflicts checks, while performing legal research and drafting at the direction of the General Counsel. This position reports directly to the General Counsel and plays a critical role in protecting client rights and preserving the firm’s ethical standards
Key Responsibilities:

Ensures that firm’s policy and process relating to Statutes of Limitations are adhered to by each of the firm’s attorneys and staff through file audits and use of provided reports

Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with national referral partners

Monitors firm’s cases to ensure that cases are moved to litigation in accordance with deadlines set to ensure SOLs are met.

Monitors firm’s conflicts check process and policy to ensure compliance with same; performs routine case audits to screen for common conflict scenarios to ensure policy and process are complied with through the life of cases

Analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and research case law, statutes, regulations, and rules at the direction of General Counsel or Managing Partner

Assists in research and drafting of jurisdiction specific documents

Performs legal research as directed by immediate supervisor on professional responsibility and ethics rules by jurisdiction

Monitors reports to ensure Attorney compliance with all laws and ethical duties regarding liens and subrogation interests on client cases

Demonstrate strong written and critical thinking skills that lead to comprehensive and persuasive writing.

Communicate clearly and logically (both orally and in writing).

Identify and handle complex problems and legal issues utilizing initiative, creativity, and sound professional judgment.

Work both independently and as a contributing team member.
Qualifications:
-
3+ years’ experience practicing law; personal injury (PI) litigation experience preferred (plaintiff or defense).

Active membership in a State Bar and license to practice law in good standing — mandatory.

Exceptional organization and attention to detail; proven ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.

Strong legal research, analytical thinking, and persuasive writing skills.

Excellent communication skills — comfortable interacting with attorneys, paralegals, adjusters, and vendors by phone and in person
