Job Summary

Under minimal supervision, responsible for planning, organizing, directing and/or controlling aspects pertaining to compliance of conflict of interest matters at the University, including (but not limited to) performing reviews of conflict of interest compliance and providing outreach to campus. The Compliance Program Manager will develop and launch training materials; investigate compliance of University research or operations; and present information to the COI Officer for review. Acts as a catalyst between the department and its customers and staff to ensure continuity and quality of service and care. Provides strategic support and leadership in planning, developing, and implementing new programs to advance the mission and goals of the division/department.

Responsibilities

  • Perform compliance assessments at the individual and Institutional level.
  • Evaluate existing processes / systems to increase office productivity and create new processes to enhance support of the COI Office and Committee.
  • Assist the Director with researching, modifying, and implementing policy or procedure requirements that better address the office’s mission.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with numerous other offices and departments to enhance COI reviews and provide outreach / education to campus.
  • Provide internal training and education to COI staff and Committee members.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Four to six years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Completion of provided supervisory training within one year of employment may be required. Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.
