Marwood General Construction is looking for a self-driven, goal focused and talented construction accountant/controller to perform the following:
Duties
- Responsible for the accounting operations of the company.
- Supervise accounts payable, payroll and accounts receivable staff and functions.
- Manage and maintain an accurate, reconciled, and verifiable general ledger accounting database.
- Preparation of all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and internally generated financial statements.
- Provide regular and timely general and job specific performance reporting and budgeting as required by Management.
- Communicate routinely with Management on topics including bonding, insurance, contract agreements, budget, and financing.
- Monitor, measure and report company and project cash flow.
- Develop written accounting procedures for the operations staff and work with the team ensuring proper compliance with accounting procedures to result in accurate job cost estimates, customer invoicing and performance measurement reports.
Skills
- Must be a strong and organized leader with analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting and/or finance required
- 3 to 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with direct responsibility for general ledger and account reconciliations.
- Experience in job cost accounting and financial reporting
- 2 to 4 years on Construction Management or General Contracting or Subcontractor industry experience.
- Demonstrated extensive experience with accounting systems, including system maintenance, cycle management, report writer configuration and data security.
- Strong understanding of regulatory reporting requirements for nonprofit, governmental, or public sector organizations.
- Experience with account reconciliation processes and balance sheet management.
- Ability to perform detailed financial analysis and prepare comprehensive financial reports.
- Familiarity with cash management strategies and accounts payable/receivable processes.
- Knowledge of technical accounting concepts including payroll processing and budget management.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
- Strong communication skills for preparing reports and collaborating across departments.
Pay: From $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
