Overview
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Residential Construction Designer to join our innovative construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architectural and construction system design, with proficiency in various CAD and 3D modeling software. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to diverse projects, from schematic development to detailed construction drawings, supporting residential building initiatives. The Construction Designer will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to develop accurate, functional, and aesthetically compelling designs that meet client specifications and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed construction drawings and schematics using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, MicroStation, or SolidWorks.
- Create 3D models and visualizations utilizing SketchUp, Rhino 3D (Rhinoceros 3D), Grasshopper 3D, or 3ds Max to support project presentations and design development.
- Creating kitchen layouts with Mozaik software.
- Prepare system designs and layouts for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in accordance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with team members to translate conceptual ideas into precise technical drawings and models.
- Assist in drafting interior design concepts, graphic designs, or system schematics as needed for project proposals.
- Conduct reviews of drawings for accuracy, compliance with building codes, safety standards, and client specifications.
- Support the integration of 2D animation or visual effects into presentations when applicable.
- Maintain organized documentation of all design files and revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ordering necessary items for each job, such as windows, plumbing fixtures, and electrical fixtures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, MicroStation, or SolidWorks.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling tools such as SketchUp, Rhino 3D (Rhinoceros 3D), Grasshopper 3D, or 3ds Max is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, system design, schematic development, and drafting techniques.
- Knowledge of graphic design principles and experience with interior or mechanical design is a plus.
- Familiarity with systems integration including electrical layouts or plumbing schematics preferred.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications accurately.
- Excellent communication skills combined with a collaborative mindset to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Pay: $62,000.00 - $74,000.00 per year
