Construction Manager

Job Purpose:

Responsible of planning, execution and closing any project within the scope, schedule, cost and quality.


Job Description;

  • Candidate will discharge the responsibilities within the policy guidelines and instructions given by Projects Manager.
  • Candidate’s recommendations are considered in the decision-making processes.
  • Candidate takes decisions as per chart of authority and policy.
  • Drafts and submits budget proposals, and recommends subsequent budget changes where necessary. Estimates the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Builds and develops growth of any business relationships vital to the success of the group.
  • Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations. Determines the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Oversees and tracks the certification of AD Civil defense and the Re-certification process for assigned projects.
  • Determines and assesses need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitment if necessary during project cycle. Negotiates with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
  • Motivates, supervises and serves as a coach and mentor to a project team members and contractors, and influences them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Adheres to all rules and regulations as per company IMS system.
  • Plans and schedules project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. Tracks project milestones and deliverables. Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical path.
  • Liaises with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis. Defines project success criteria and disseminates them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
  • Directs and manages project development from beginning to end. Defines project scope, goals and deliverable that support business goals in collaboration with senior management.
  • Proactively manages changes in project scope, identify potential crisis and devise contingency plans.
  • Delegates tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel. Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the project team. Effectively communicates project expectations to team members in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills. Ability to determine the specifications and standards for business reporting and maintaining data integrity.
  • Ensuring a ‘customer focussed’ approach is implemented in own area. Systematically analyses customer information. | Understands and keeps up to date on wider issues at local and national level that may have an impact on the service provided. | Is proactive, benchmarks, best practice, seeks service improvement. | Ensures systems are in place to communicate relevant information to others either within own division/department/team or to committees/groups, or to colleagues. | Manages the process of reviewing policies and procedures to improve satisfaction with the service provided within the scope of own department or project. | Ensures the development and implementation of agreed customer improvement plans.
  • Ability to assess operational issues and potential concerns regarding operations and implements goal-oriented strategies to enhance productivity and profitability.
  • Ability to understand shared beliefs and values established by leaders and then communicate and reinforce through various methods, to model employee perceptions, behaviors and understanding.
  • Able to conceive, scope, and justify the need, and execute major projects, which will have substantial business impact. normally across more than one function or geography.

  • Ability to operate MS Office applications to support the administrative functions of the organization.
  • Ability to develop a schedule, assigning resources to tasks, tracking progress, managing the budget, and analyzing workloads using MS Project/Primavera.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience 5+ years as a Construction Manager or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, codes and safety standards.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD etc.,).
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving and communication skills.
