Construction Manager

Location: Project based in Syria (deployment in Aleppo, Idlib, and Damascus areas). Work will be primarily site-based inside Syria.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily construction activities for substations and transmission lines.
• Supervise contractor performance, schedule, manpower, and quality.
• Review and approve construction methods, materials, and site safety plans.
• Manage inspection requests, work permits, and interface between civil, electrical, and protection teams.
• Provide weekly progress and risk reports to the Project Director.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and FIDIC conditions.

Qualifications (RFP requirements)

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering (Master’s an advantage).
• 15 years’ total experience, including at least 10 years in construction management of transmission or substation projects (≥ 132 kV).
• Proven ability to manage multiple EPC contractors and multicultural site teams.
• Familiarity with World Bank / IFI projects and international safety standards.
• Fluency in Arabic required; English proficiency desirable.

Compensation: Competitive field salary with monthly performance bonus; relocation and mobility allowances for non-resident or expatriate candidates.
