Job Summary
SSJ Technical Services is looking for an experienced and results-oriented Construction Manager to oversee construction operations, project execution, manpower, cost control, estimation, and client coordination.
The ideal candidate should have 10–15 years of relevant construction experience with strong leadership, team management, manpower planning, project management, and commercial skills. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered efficiently while maintaining quality, profitability, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities Project Management
- Plan, manage, and supervise construction projects from commencement through completion.
- Ensure projects are completed within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
- Monitor project progress and resolve operational and technical issues.
- Prepare and review project schedules, progress reports, and required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Team & Manpower Management
- Manage and supervise construction teams and site personnel.
- Plan manpower requirements based on project workload and schedules.
- Monitor productivity, attendance, allocation, and performance of manpower.
- Ensure efficient utilization of available resources.
- Lead and coordinate with site foremen and workers to achieve project targets.
- Maintain proper workforce discipline and productivity.
Current Manpower Structure
The Construction Manager will oversee and coordinate the existing workforce, including:
- 10 Masons
- 10 Steel Fixers
- Site Foreman
- HR Personnel
- Accountant
The manager will be responsible for effective manpower planning and coordination based on current and future project requirements.
Cost & Profit Control
- Monitor project costs and ensure effective cost control.
- Track manpower, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Monitor project profitability and identify opportunities to improve margins.
- Minimize unnecessary expenses, wastage, and operational losses.
- Ensure projects are executed in accordance with approved budgets.
Quotation & Estimation
- Prepare and review project quotations and estimates.
- Analyze drawings, BOQs, specifications, manpower requirements, and material costs.
- Calculate project costs and ensure commercially viable pricing.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive rates.
- Review quotations before submission to clients.
- Support management in identifying profitable project opportunities.
Invoicing, Payments & Follow-Up
- Coordinate preparation and submission of project invoices.
- Monitor outstanding payments and maintain regular follow-up with clients.
- Coordinate with the Accountant regarding invoicing, collections, and payment status.
- Ensure timely submission of supporting documents required for payment.
- Follow up with clients regarding pending invoices and payment approvals.
- Maintain proper records of project billing and collections.
Quality & Safety
- Ensure all construction works meet required quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and monitor workmanship.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Identify potential site risks and implement appropriate corrective measures.
- Ensure workers follow company and project safety procedures.
Required Candidate Profile
- 10–15 years of relevant experience in construction/project management.
- Strong experience in team and manpower management.
- Proven ability to manage construction projects and site operations independently.
- Strong knowledge of cost control and profit management.
- Experience in quotation preparation and project estimation.
- Experience in invoicing, payment collection, and client follow-up.
- Strong understanding of construction manpower requirements and productivity.
- Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Good knowledge of construction materials, methods, drawings, BOQs, and project requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- UAE/GCC construction experience is preferred.
- Strong commercial awareness with a focus on project profitability.
