Construction Manager ( Bridge Construction )

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the execution of a Pedestrian Bridge (Footbridge) project over/within the Etihad Rail corridor. The candidate must have prior experience in railway-related bridge construction, preferably on projects with Etihad Rail.

The role demands strong technical expertise in structural steel and reinforced concrete pedestrian bridges, strict adherence to railway safety protocols, and proven capability in managing works within live rail environments or controlled rail corridors.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution

• Lead the full construction lifecycle of the pedestrian bridge, including foundations, substructure, superstructure, and finishing works.

• Oversee RCC works (piles, pile caps, piers, abutments) and structural steel erection.

• Manage installation of precast elements, steel trusses/girders, and deck slab systems.

• Supervise lifting operations, crane plans, and launching methodologies in railway safety zones.

• Ensure compliance with Etihad Rail technical standards and rail corridor protection requirements.

Railway Interface & Safety

• Coordinate with Etihad Rail operations team for work permits, rail possessions, and safety clearances.

• Ensure all activities comply with railway operational safety standards and HSE regulations.

• Review and approve method statements, lifting studies, and risk assessments specific to railway environments.

• Implement exclusion zones and rail protection systems during construction.

Planning & Control

• Monitor project schedule, productivity, and milestone compliance.

• Implement recovery strategies for delays.

• Control budget, subcontractor performance, and material procurement.

• Lead weekly progress meetings with client, consultant, and subcontractors.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure all works comply with project specifications, ITPs, and IFC drawings.

• Coordinate inspections and approvals with consultant and Etihad Rail representatives.

• Maintain proper documentation for audits and authority approvals.

• 
  Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.

• Minimum 13 years of experience in civil construction.

• At least 7–10 years in bridge construction, including pedestrian or railway bridges.

• Proven experience in projects executed for Etihad Rail (mandatory or highly preferred).

• Strong technical expertise in:

  • Structural steel bridges and truss systems

  • RCC bridge components

  • Precast installation

  • Heavy lifting operations

  • Working within railway corridors

• Sound knowledge of FIDIC contract conditions.

• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and project reporting tools.

• Valid UAE Driving License preferred.
