Construction Manager - Substation

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead execution of substation projects including 11kV, 33kV, 132kV, and higher voltage substations.
• Manage construction as per IFC drawings, shop drawings, BOQ, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Plan construction sequence, methodology, manpower, plant, and equipment deployment for electrical and civil works.
• Monitor project progress against approved baseline and look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and authorities for inspections, energization, and approvals.
• Ensure compliance with UAE authority standards (DEWA, ADDC, AADC, TRANSCO, SEWA, etc.).
• Manage approvals related to shutdowns, tie-ins, energization, and testing.
• Supervise subcontractors for equipment installation, cable laying, termination, testing, and commissioning.
• Review and approve method statements, ITPs, risk assessments, and switching procedures.
• Oversee installation of transformers, switchgear (GIS/AIS), protection panels, control systems, and SCADA integration.
• Manage testing & commissioning activities including relay testing, functional testing, and energization.
• Control project cost, productivity, variations, and site resources in coordination with QS/Commercial team.
• Implement QA/QC requirements and Project Quality Plan (PQP) across all site activities.
• Enforce HSE compliance and safe execution, especially during high-risk electrical works.
• Lead and manage site teams including Engineers, Supervisors, and Foremen.
• Prepare and submit progress reports, manpower reports, and performance updates to management.

Education & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 12–18 years of experience in power infrastructure / substation projects
• Strong knowledge of UAE authority standards and approvals (DEWA/ADDC/TRANSCO, etc.)
• Proven experience in handling HV/MV substation construction and commissioning
• Familiarity with protection systems, SCADA, and grid integration
• Ability to manage multiple work fronts and subcontractors
• Strong leadership, coordination, and reporting skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED13,000.00 - AED15,000.00 per month
