General Description
This position oversees minor construction projects, facility modification projects, and construction related repair projects. A thorough knowledge of commercial construction processes, designs, materials, standards of quality, and trade coordination is essential. This position must prepare cost estimates, construction plans, scopes of work, bid specifications, and bid documents. This position must coordinate and monitor quality of work performed by outside contractors, understand and use submittals and shop drawings to plan and manage work. This position supervises multiple positions including: Maintenance – Construction Emphasis and Maintenance – Irrigation Emphasis. This position assists with the continued planning, design and construction of new and renovated facilities, and the maintenance of existing campus facilities and grounds. This position reports to the Director of Physical Plant. Responsibilities will include administration of minor renovation and repair projects. This position works on-site at the northeast campus, cooperatively and collaboratively with other campus offices and departments, faculty, and staff and is expected to develop and maintain a good relationship with the campus community and students. This position is expected to be available at off hours as needed for increased workloads and emergencies.
Qualifications: Education
Bachelor’s Degree in construction management, facilities management or construction related field.
