Construction Project Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer (Civil) with demonstrated expertise in heavy civil construction works to manage and oversee all civil engineering activities for large-scale construction project. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with deep

excavations, massive raft foundations (1m+ thickness), tall basement walls (8m height), large structural columns (1m x 1m), and underground water infrastructure.

Professional Experience

 Minimum 8-10 years of experience in civil construction projects in the UAE/GCC

region

 Minimum of 5 years specific experience with heavy civil works including:

o Raft foundations ≥1m thickness with mass concrete pours (minimum 500m³+

single pour)

o Deep basements with wall heights ≥8m

o Large structural elements: columns 1m x 1m or larger, beams 1m+ depth

o Underground water tanks and industrial basement structures

o Waterproofing systems for basements with hydrostatic pressure resistance

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 Review and verify all civil engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications for compliance with project requirements and UAE/Dubai regulations

 Develop and review shop drawings for cast-in-place concrete, formwork,

reinforcement, waterproofing, and structural steel elements

 Prepare method statements for complex civil works including deep excavations,

dewatering, raft foundation pours, tall basement walls, and large column construction

 Coordinate civil works with MEP systems, ensuring proper embedments,

penetrations, and interfaces

 Ensure proper shoring, bracing, and temporary works design for deep excavations (8m+ depth)

 Supervise construction of 1m thick raft foundation with appropriate concrete mix

design & Manage placement of mass concrete pours with heat of hydration control

measures

 Oversee installation of waterproofing systems for basement (two layers 4mm SBS

modified bitumen membrane with 180 gr/m² polyester reinforcement)

 Coordinate construction of 8m high basement walls with proper formwork design,

concrete placement in lifts, and construction joint management. Ensure proper

installation of waterstops at construction joints

 Manage construction of 1m x 1m reinforced concrete columns with Grade 460B

deformed reinforcement

 Manage installation of GRP lining for water tanks

 Conduct pre-pour inspections of reinforcement, formwork, embedments, and ensure approval before concrete placement

 Develop detailed civil works execution schedules integrated with overall project

program

 Coordinate with subcontractors for excavation, dewatering, concrete works,

waterproofing, structural steel, and finishing trades

 Plan concrete pour sequences for large volume pours (raft foundation, mass concrete elements)

 Manage construction logistics including material delivery, equipment mobilization, and site access

 Provide daily site supervision and technical guidance to construction teams

 Implement Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) procedures for deep excavation,

confined space entry, working at heights, and heavy lifting operations

 Prepare daily site reports, weekly progress reports, and monthly construction reports

 Maintain as-built drawings reflecting actual construction conditions

 Prepare material submittals, mock-up reports, and inspection test reports (ITRs)

 Prepare RFIs (Requests for Information) and technical clarifications as required

 Coordinate with Engineering Consultants and design team on structural and civil

design matters. Coordinate with authorities (Dubai Municipality, Civil Defense,

Trakhees) for inspections and approvals.

Pay: AED12,000.00 - AED18,000.00 per month
