Construction Project Engineer - Intern

About the Role:
Step into the fast-paced world of industrial construction with an internship that goes well beyond basic observation. As a Construction Project Engineer Intern at TAI, you will be an active participant in the entire project lifecycle; from initial conceptual estimating and value engineering to on-site mobilization and final closeout. Working across high-impact sectors like life sciences and chemical manufacturing, you’ll collaborate directly with design teams and subcontractors to ensure complex facilities are built to the highest standards. This is a hands-on opportunity to master the mechanics of project management, helping you bridge the gap between classroom theory and the execution of world-class infrastructure.

Here’s a glimpse into your day to day:
  • Construction projects within manufacturing/industrial markets: food/beverage, chemical, power generation, life sciences, etc.
  • All phases of the project life cycle, from front end estimating, constructability reviews and value engineering to project mobilization and closeout.
  • Supporting and maintaining project budgets and accounting, project schedules and other project-related documentation.
  • Estimating from conceptual through hard bid estimate levels.
  • Collaborating with architects and design team to develop the best overall product for clients.
  • Supporting vendors and subcontractors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

You’ll be a perfect fit if you have:
  • Current college student pursuing degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field of study.
  • Desire to purse a career within construction management.
  • Prior work or internship experience within construction is a plus.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate extreme attention to detail.
  • Must possess strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
  • Must be able to perform calculations, to problem solve, and use reasoning.
  • Must be able to effectively manage and direct others.

Computer Skills Required:
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Project)
  • Ability to learn Construction Management platform such as Procore and Foundation.

Physical Demands:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will spend long hours on construction sites using construction equipment and tools. At times, the weather may be inclement. The position requires repetitive motion, such as standing, walking, sitting, and bending. This position could also entail reaching, climbing, crawling, and walking over uneven terrain. Moderate to heavy lifting is required, up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Travel:
  • Employee will primarily work at client/project sites. Must be willing to travel.

Compensation and Benefits:
