Position Title: Construction Quality Assurance Representative
Reports to: Operations Manager
Location: Sault Sainte Marie, MI
Employment Status: Full-Time. Flexibility is required as hours may vary, including longer days or non-weekday work and working most federal holidays, as project dictates.
FLSA Status: Exempt
Position Summary: Aldevra is currently seeking a qualified Construction Quality Assurance Representative to support the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) by performing Quality Assurance (QA) at the New Lock at the Soo in Sault Ste. This position is contingent upon contract award.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Perform QA concrete testing in this Task Order per the project QASP and additional IPO guidance and direction.

Provide independent Quality Assurance oversight of the Mass Concrete Definable Feature of Work (DFOW) and oversight of Kokosing Alberici Trailer, LLC (KAT) concrete placement within the footprint of the New Lock Chamber for the New Lock at the Soo

Ensuring KAT’s compliance with contract specifications and drawings to USACE’s quality standards.

Ensure the construction contract specifications and drawings are followed, working directly with KAT Quality Control (QC) staff and KAT Safety Personnel as well as working directly with USACE IPO Quality Assurance personnel, Technical Staff, Contract Administration personnel, and IPO Leadership Team.

Review and enforce EM 385-1-1 onsite as applicable.

Review specifications, drawings, submittals, RFI’s and any other associated contract documents regarding the assigned DFOW.
- Attend daily USACE QA/KAT QC meetings, and meet weekly with the USACE Task Order COR, USACE Construction COR and produce a record of discussions from that meeting for submission to USACE.

Attend 3 phase meetings regarding the assigned DFOW.

Coordinate Inspection needs with KAT QC department

Task Order QA Personnel should anticipate spending no less than 70% of their day in the field observing and monitoring activities associated with assigned DFOW. The remainder 30% should be spent reviewing contract documents and completing reports.

Daily Field Inspections – Preplacement, During Placement, and Post Placement

Daily Testing and reporting – Mass Concrete

Furnish a daily report summarizing all the inspections that were performed.

IPO Direction by the Task Order Contracting Officer (KO) and implemented by the Task Order Contracting Officer Representative (COR).

IPO Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP) 25 SEPT 2025, (updated annually).

Must be able to obtain Common Access Card (CAC) clearance.
This position requires passing an extensive background check.
Qualifications:

High school diploma
-
Must be OSHA-30 certified
-
Must be certified as American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Field Testing Technician Level 1, ACI Certified for Concrete Strength Testing Technician, and ACI Aggregate Testing Technician Level 1.

Minimum experience of 5 years working in the Quality Assurance or Quality Control field working on Commercial or Industrial Construction, that includes Concrete placement

Must be familiar with reading Plans and Specifications
-
Additional experience enforcing safety standards on a construction site is desired.

Must have experience working on USACE projects, or other heavy commercial or industrial construction. Residential construction is not a relevant substitution
-
Must be able to drive a “side-by-side” on the project site
-
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, including military personnel, civilian engineers, and construction contractors

Valid Real-ID state-issued driver’s license
-
Excellent and accurate written communication

Familiarity with Windows operating systems; online calendars and cloud systems; intermediate to advanced skills Microsoft office products required

Excellent attention to detail; accurate data entry
